Vaping vs Shisha?

So my girlfriend was asking me these questions the other day. What is vaping and how does it work? Is that better or worst than Shisha? To answer them, we should first look into how vaping and shisha actually work.

For vaping, once the smoker presses the inhale button on the device, the electric circuit is connected and the heating coil on top is activated. It then warms up the oil substance inside the vaping cartridge and it is aerosolized into gas form that you can inhale. The oil substance usually contains water, nicotine, favoring, propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin base. However, we are seeing a trend where people are now putting other mixture of chemicals into the vaping oil which could potentially lead us to unknow effects.

As for Shisha, artificial flavored jelly/mixture are packed and wrapped with foil paper in the clay head. Generally speaking, these flavoring are made of tobacco, molasses and vegetable sugar alcohol. Once the jelly flavor are wrapped, you then to put heated charcoal on top of the clay head. You then inhale through the shisha pipe that passes through water in the bottom of the base.

Based on the research, I can say that Shisha definitely looks more dangerous. The smoke that you inhale not only contains the talk since substance from the charcoal that was burning on top, it also contain tar and carcinogens from tobacco which obviously are the same chemical that is causing cancer in traditional cigarette.

Although on the the surface, vaping looks safer as it does not contain tar and carcinogens, there are so much that we do not know about Vaping. In addition, there are also danger when people are modifying the vaping mod and inserting untested substance in the vaping cartilage.
